If you're anything like me, I love when my kids make crafts, but I don't love it when it requires a bazillion different materials. When my kids want to make a craft, and they can easily access all the materials on their desks, I am ALL for it. In this post, I am going to introduce you to some fun crafts that only require FOUR materials, and I bet you already have them.
As an
1. Paper Chain
For this craft, all you need is:
Just cut the paper into strips, decorate the strips, then glue or tape them together into a chain. SIMPLE! Yet so fun! My kids love to decorate them and then hang up the long chains in their rooms over their beds. They think their room looks like a party is happening.
2. Nature Painting
I always enjoy this craft because it requires some outdoor time and makes them notice things they wouldn't normally see. For this craft all you need is…
All you do is gather things from outside like pine cones, leaves, pine needles, rocks, whatever! Then bring them in and have the kids paint them and then imprint them on the paper! They will love to discover the different patterns the items will make!
3. Shakers
Making musical instruments is my kids' favorite craft, however, things that make more noise in the house are usually pretty low on my craft list. Nevertheless, it's always a fun and cheap craft to make. Here's what you need.
- Toilet paper roll (or paper towel roll)
- Beans (or anything that will make noise when shaken)
- glue/tape (We like to use different colors)
- Any decorations you have on hand (Ex. scrap paper, googly eyes, glitter, pipe cleaners, etc.)
We got this craft kit 2 years ago and we are still using it! It lasts a long time!
Go ahead and tape the top of the tube closed then fill it with your choice of shakers. Tape the other end closed and then decorate to your heart's content!
4. Hats
This is great for role-playing! My daughter loves to become different people and do different jobs! A simple hat can turn your child into a police officer, fireman, doctor, nurse, or even a fox! The only supplies you really need are…
Here are some different free templates you can find online!
These are just a few ways to make some budget-friendly, and tech-free crafts that can entertain your kids! Doing activities like these fit into any homeschool philosophy you might have, so don't forget to record it as part of your homeschool.
I would love to include you in my prayers as we both pray over our lives and children. Feel free to email me and let me know how your journey is going.
