Christian Parents Create a Foundation of Spiritual Fulfillment Through Education

As a Christian homeschool family, you hold strongly to the belief that a child's education is more than just giving knowledge, but rather you are being God's hands in developing a soul and providing a jumping off base for your child to develop a lifelong relationship with God. As Christian parents, we are striving every day to not nurture our child's faith in God through every lesson taught.

This is not how most of the world does this though. Many parents prefer a secular approach to their child's education where spiritual growth is something separate, unimportant, and has no place in education. As Christians we are called to walk a different path, where we integrate our faith into every aspect of our lives, including our child's education. We believe that spiritual growth goes hand in hand with learning, enriching both mind and spirit.

What if…

Can you imagine if the whole world schooled this way? Where it was the norm to acknowledge education not just as a route to career success, but also as a journey of spiritual and personal growth? Even now, schools are starting to recognize the importance of mental health in education, maybe soon they will begin to see the importance of spiritual health as well. In the future I imagine, every lesson is an opportunity to connect deeper with God, Biblical teachings, and the spirit within them. Imagine a school where every day your child grows in faith as they grow in knowledge.

This future that we envision, is already unfolding in many Christian homeschooling communities. More parents are seeking curriculums and lessons that integrate Biblical principles. Parents are trying to become more adept at tying in every day lessons to God's Word. My 2 favorite education methods Montessori and Waldorf are easily adapted by many Christian families to include spiritual lessons alongside normal academics.

What do Christian parents do?

Christian families are embracing a MultiPath Learning approach where they are customizing their child's education to not just meet their intellectual needs, but also their spiritual needs. The rEDo Program uses MultiPath Learning at its core to provide a way out of the Homeschool Hole of Darkness, where frustration and isolation give way to joy and connection. Without embracing MultiPath Learning, your child will lose not just their interest in learning, but can also drift from their faith, missing the chance to see God in every aspect of their lives.

As Christian parents, we are charged by God to prevent this straying of faith. We are acting as guardians of our children's hearts and minds and must stand AGAINST the tide that wants to separate learning from faith. We must leave the Homeschool Hole of Darkness using the tools God gave us— the Word, patience, love, and proper educational approaches. Together, as a community of Christian parents, we can create our ideal future for our children and for other Christian homeschool families to follow.
